EXAGGERATE AN EXPERIENCE IN YOUR HOME
The aim of this project was to research and examine the experiences in my home. To discover what aspects of my home I have found to be the most important and meaningful.
The process began with researching artists for inspiration, more specifically Sophie Calle and her 'Hotel' series...
I chose photography as the way in which to capture aspects of my home. Rather than taking a photo of the spaces as a whole, I decided to zoom in on the details of each room. To further exaggerate the experience, a sound recording for the objects in each photo was created. This was done as a way of bringing the photos to life.
I began capturing objects in my bedroom, the place I spend most of my time, then ventured to other spaces in my home. I chose my kitchen as another space I spend a lot of time, as well as the backyard and laundry.

- original bedroom photos
-original kitchen photos
-original backyard photos
- original laundry photos
I decided to represent all four of the spaces in a small zine format, as a keepsake of sorts to look through in detail. For the two spaces which felt most important, I also chose to represent them through a soundscape accompanying the photographs; to further emphasize the experience of each item in my home.
- Final Zines
- Final Bedroom Video
