Title
show home|home show
Topic
The project is about creating a pint-sized theatre with audience section and stage section in the existing room. I’ll select a text about a certain interior place with its special atmosphere or meaning and represent/visualize it by installation and lighting in real space. It’s going to be an unordinary and unreal experience in the home.
Research
Texts:
“Howl’s Moving Castle” -Diana Wynne Jones (The interior of the castle)
“The Five People You Meet in Heaven” -Mitch Albom (the amusment park on the beach)
“The dogs of Babel” -Carolyn Parkhurst (their home)
-One of the book above-
Artists:
Verdensteatret (shadow, lighting and sound)
Richard Hudson (set designer)
Maria Bjornson (set designer)
(need consulation)
Documant:
Images (stages)
Text (highlights)
Relationship to previous work
Within the procedure of previous work, I grew the interests in surface texture, shadow, details and most important, exploring my room. And all those will be used as strategies to build up the set.
Processes
1-select the text, and choose a thene happened in the place (on folio)
2-sketch the place, draw out the concept of how it’s going to be, including modifiable parts and where audience’s going to be (on folio)
3-apply the sketch to the real site (room), decide materials, colours, lighting positions, and movement plans (on folio)
4-set up set in the room, document the setting (on folio)
5-document the finished set within a video, showing its functions, soundtrack for foiling atmosphere (maybe make an “advertisement” video for the theatre, need consulation)
/- write a thene played in the set, scenario (tell by “people”) as soundtrack (need consulation)
6-blog entry (add a poster for the show?)
