-      Capture peoples views on what makes their home a home to them, what certain objects/noises etc. create the feeling of home

-      Examine and research my experience of the home, what aspects of my home are most important/iconic

Relationship to previous work

-      Both of the options will build onto my thoughts and feelings towards the home and what makes a home, it will allow me to further research the aspects of my home that I relate to most and also see how the idea of home varies from person to person.

For either option I think I will need to include of all the above processes in order to help me determine and outcome. Interviewing will be of more importance for people and their spaces; in order to truly understand what it is about sounds/aspects of their home is most important. For the exaggeration of experiences in my home, Photography and Sound I think will be the strongest processes that I will need to concentrate on capturing.

Timeline

Week 10

-      Proposal due, consultation with Lynn and Bruce on the Tuesday.

-      Further refine proposal for Friday’s class, discuss with Bruce any further developments

Week 11

-      Portfolio development and review on the Tuesday, begin to think about the overall presentation of my work

-      Friday’s class consult with Bruce, resolve any technical issues I may have

Week 12

-      Work in progress presentation with Lynn and Bruce, discuss any problems or urgencies about my work before the 2 week study period begins

Week 13

-      No classes, continue to work on brief 3 at home, aim to finalise as much as possible for week 14

Week 14

-      Work on presentation format, prepare for final assessment

-      Final Assessment Friday 28^th

Week 15

-      Work on folio for blog submission

-      Blog submission due Thursday 3^rd

Expected Outcome:

-      For people in their spaces I hope to have a collection of photographs/sounds depicting people’s different experiences of their home, possibly in the style of Sophie Calle. Am unsure of exactly how that would be presented, possibly the photographs as a journal/book type layout with an accompanying soundtrack.

-      For Exaggerate an Experience in your home, I was thinking of something along the lines of Herbert Distel’s Museum of Drawers where instead of showcasing an artwork in each box within the drawer, each box will have an image of an aspect of my home. Again, this would also possibly have an accompanying soundtrack, which will need to be incorporated somehow.
