BRIEF 2 : IMMERSIVE ENVIRONMENTS

At this time, I tried to create videos for the lighting and sound design and immersive environment.


1. Exercise 5 : Lighting Design

I explored in both my room and the modeling for taking pictures and making videos at a day time and night time.

< A day time>

I took pictures about a day time in both the modeling and real room. The some photos of all things are contrasted between the dark and light side. The first pictures (the left side - the modeling bed) caused relax, peaceful and clam feeling. Also I have the interested photos that are the reflected opposite side's building, the view in the shower booth and narrow light(the right page).

< A night time>

I was more interesting at the night time because the boundary is clearer than the day time between the dark and light side. Moreover, the shadows are definite and it makes the atmosphere of horror.

<Materials>

I created a film through the above observation. I used a net ball, paper, fabric for making variety scenes. I thought how do I represent these stuffs and what do I want to show by these materials?

2. Exercise 6 - Sound Design

Through this exercise, I learned the matching sound and movie. When I added the sound in the movie, I should think what kind of sounds would match with a film.

I matched sounds that are the universe and deep sea with videos and these sounds are contrasted distinctly. The universe sound is the outside noise of the Earth and another sound is the inside in the Earth.  I also felt it like dreamlike when I created it.

After we discussed about the sound exercise at week 6, I created one more video. I also made a story that is a visit of the UFO into my room.

3. Exercise 7 - Immersive Environment

Through before exercises, I decided to make some reflections. So I chose the CD because this material is colorful like the rainbow when I lighted it.

This material seems like some cells. If I ask somebody what is it, they would not know it. I had the more interesting result than I thought it.  It made some patterns on the door and wall and also dreamlike atmosphere in the bathroom, dress room and entrance of my bedroom.



Through each exercise, I realised that we can create the new things that can be the space of the universe, the deep sea and some special house through materials of near us. The materials are what see easily around our environment but I did not know it can make wonderful movies and patterns. Therefore, I should explore more and more the my house.
